Re: Tweaking Bianchi's X-15 shoulder holster?

The X-15 will hold a 7 1/2-inch Super Blackhawk along with the regular Blackhawks and I see guys carrying their Smith Model 29s in this holster. I looked at several X-15s on eBay and then stumbled on this one for about $35 shipped. Very pleased.

Tweaking Bianchi's X-15 shoulder holster?

Didn't want to step on Lastmohecken's thread about shoulder carry. I just bought an X-15 Large from an eBay seller in Idaho to carry my .41 Blackhawk 6 1/2 and the leather is in very nice shape, but the stretchy spandex/elastic retaining strap looks like it could fail if stressed too much. Anyone re...

Durability of a semi-auto vs. a revolver

I was reading a thread on the S&W forum this morning about how many rounds various semi-autos can be expected to last before springs and parts fail or slides crack. Focus was on 1911s and the S&W Shields. But I got to wondering how long a single or double action revolver is likely to last be...

Very sorry you are having this fight with Ruger over their defective product, Scott. And no, gun owners should not be expected to have torque wrenches just to shoot their new rifles. I hear a lot of complaints about Smith & Wesson's QC and customer service on the S&W forums as well. Jeep, yo...

When going to high school in Arcata, California, where Dad was teaching forestry at Humboldt State College, an elderly widow in our neighborhood had an immaculate 1948 De Soto with Fluid Drive for sale for $300. I'll bet someone needs this cap-and-ball sixgun

Looking for a good home for this Uberti 1860 Army, .44 caliber. It's the fluted cylinder model that Colt first came out with -- many of them going to Texas just before the Civil War blockade ended Colt's business in that state. Feels livelier in the hand than the more common unfluted cylinder models...

Aging Baby Boomers and guns

I attribute my interest in firearms from earliest consciousness to memories of Dad going through his WWII soldier's chest (and the 1903 Springfield deer rifle in his closet) and to the influence of Madison Avenue and Hollywood. How could a boy resist wanting one of these swell firearms from Mattel (...
