Another vote for the Lee 255. But I had that RCBS 270 Keith and it was a daisy as well. Just never tried to feed it through a lever gun.

FWIW, I just received 1,000 Cheddite 209 shotgun primers (made in France) plus a pound of Alliant 20/28 powder from Ballistic Products on a special -- $5 hazmat and $10 shipping. The 209s were $60. I know, not the same as large rifle primers. But now I can fool with putting up some 28s on the MEC 60...

By the way, those fall-front knee breeches came to me used, and I wouldn't have chosen pink, although it was not only correct for the period but considered downright high class. Shortly after this I dyed them in home-made walnut hull dye to a nice light brown. I have to say this clothing was very co...

Indulge me another recipe post
I have toyed with historical re-enacting over the years with muzzleloading firearms and one of the best sources for close to period-correct clothing and equipment is Townsend's. Jonathan Townsend has posted some very good Youtubes on 18th and 19th century topics that are well worth watching. But thi...

That would be such fun to attend even as a spectator. I found out today that Weatherby has added a plain but affordable side-by side to its Orion line, apparently made by Yildiz. Never hurts to have fresh options, although I am enjoying the CZ G2 Bobwhite in 28. I know, none of these rate with the l...

.45Colt: winter and spring mud was one reason I left Oregon. Gets real tiresome. Will, the secret to using dry beans, which I prefer these days, is the overnight soak with a pinch of baking soda. It greatly reduces the amount of raffinose sugar responsible for gas issues. https://www.eatingwell.com/...

Well, I took the Super Wrangler to the range today along with a couple of rifles and the chronograph, but the wind at Avenger Airport here in Sweetwater was gusting over 30 mph. Hmmm. Just calculating that a 40-round course fired with say, the Lee 310, would use up more than 28 ounces ounces of lead vs about 22 with a 240-grain boolit.

Our local club is one of the last two in Texas that still holds a monthly IHMSA shoot. Thinking of trying a .44 Magnum in a single shot pistol. Wonder what a decent cast load would be for this purpose.
