Re: Big Bore......

Good to know, Ray. I still have some Starline .44 Russian brass left over from when I was running an open-top in that sweet caliber. I am familiar with the old rule of thumb about heavier bullets exiting the muzzle higher in the recoil arc, and am guessing that is very much in play with the Bulldog.

Jason, really liking that Speed Six, bro. I took this path recently, but I have work to do. With a Lee 200-grain cast and 5.5 of Trailboss, it shoots at least a foot low at 10 yards, and I need to polish the chambers to get decent extraction. DA is a bit rough, but SA is outstanding. https://live.st...

I'm stumped, Jason. But I am about positive it is a military sight due to its robust construction and the elevation being adjustable to 800 yards. Could it be from one of the military rolling blocks?

I'm with Ray on the sights. They are way too tiny for my 66-year-old eyes. But the Mak is nothing to sneeze at and I think Hornady still makes some very fine defense ammo. A Ruger LCP in 9Mak would be an eye-opener.

Grizz, the Inuit would put their elderly infirm on an ice floe, and watch it slowly disappear. I think this is far more merciful than watching someone slowly strangle, intubated, in ICU as my father did.

I got a crazy idea -- wondering if a guy could make a portable shooting bench out of one of the sit-or-stand walkers that you can often find for next to nothing in thrift stores. 6-pt, that's a big bruiser all right. I never got to enjoying a .300 Win Mag in a heavy Ruger precision rifle 20 years ago. Even with all the weight, it still took a lot of concentration -- at least from me -- to shoot it well. Dialing back to a .260 Remington was the better course.
