Here's a few I really like that weren't mentioned, and that you may not have seen. These are all available on DVD: -Dead Man w/Johnny Depp (Neil Young does the musical score) -Missouri Breaks w/Jack Nicholson and Marlon Brando -The Tin Star w/Henry Fonda and Anthony Perkins -Gunslinger's Revenge w/H...

I tried it. I went fishing and shooting for a week and a half, relaxed at night, watched movies, played guitar. I was so sick of fishing by the second Thursday that I updated my resume on Friday morning and started looking for work. So for my retirement, I'd like good health. With that and my meager...

This is an excellent thread. I'd been cogitating over whether to buy a Henry. But I can't get over the brass receiver, the weight, the fact that the barrel and mag tube are not cast as a single piece, the existence of the forearm, the weight (I understand the originals were over 9 lbs.). ursavus.ele...

2ndovc and win92, Thanks for posting those pics! win92, it looks cold enough up there... A couple weeks ago, from the car, I saw, in a field to the right of the car, a baldy perhaps discussing the probability of lunch with a hawk; there was a rodent on the ground between them. The eagle was over twi...

I was married in a pair of western boots- forget the brand... I wear Olathe now; slightly disappointed that they moved their operations out of Kansas. IMO they're good boots, but can't compare them to Lucchese; my brother wears the Lucchese's, but he buys the dress boots from his local Shepler's sto...

No negative. One of the advantages of shooting .44mag and .357mag is to have a load that you can shoot out of your revolver and your lever gun. I develop the best load for my revolver and then shoot it out of both. Not using .38 and .44 special cartridges obviates the worry about developing the lead...

Rossi/EMF forearm removal - ?
Hey gang, I have an EMF Hartford in 44 magnum (awesome shooter, BTW); I'd like to get the forearm off for a minute, but it seems stuck, or I'm missing something. I've removed the two foreend cap screws and slid the cap forward, but the forearm, she no budge. Should I just pull harder, or is there a ...

Hi Pepe Ray, Good point- funny thing about open sights, that way. If the sun's on your left, it strikes the outside left of the front sight, pushing your aim to the right, and strikes the inside right side of the rear sight, pushing your aim to the left. They virtually counteract each other; the tri...

EMF- Polish/brighten front bead- how to do it?
Howdy, I've got an EMF in .44 magnum, 24" octagon bbl. with bead front, semi-buckhorn rear sight. The front bead "appears" to be gold or brass, but try as I have, I cannot get it bright enough to spot from the other end of the barrel! Any ideas on how to get this sucker to shine? Than...
