winchester 1895 gunsmith recomendations
I have decided to have one of my 95's tuned up to fix a firing pin bolt face peening/erosion issue that is fairly common in the 30-06 95's. Does anyone have any recommendations for a competent gunsmith. The guy I normally use is in the process of retirement, and has already begun breaking down his s...

You can load the 454 from 45/70 territory on down if the rifle holds up. I guess some haven't.
Not to hijack the thread, but are there inherent problems with hotter lads in the puma/rossi's. This is the first that I have heard of any problems.

Re: Here's what I got for my $300 Glock
Nice trade there. Typically the single six will shoot the 22 mag better than the 22lr. This is due to the barrel being sized for the 22mag which is slightly larger than the 22lr (.224 vs .222). You might consider slugging the barrel to determine the bore size. Mine slugged at .225, so it makes sense...

You might get them quicker directly from marlin. I lost a couple of screws a few years back at a sass match. I called them up and two days later they were in my mailbox free of charge. They are pretty good people to deal with.

Congrats on entering the world of .45's. That's a fine pistol you got there. As for loads, I would try the h110 since you already have some. Most of the .45lc that I load I do with 2400 now, I seem to get a little better accuracy than the H110. For some reason it is the converse in the 44mag, I cons...

Winchester 94 pre war firing pin
Does anyone know where I can get a firing pin for a pre war winchester 1894? I discovered recently that mine is now a 2 piece firing pin.
On the same note; is this common for the older 94's? Should I keep spares on hand or is this just one of those things that happens with age and use?
