Re: Who's On Insulin??

I'm a type 2 as well. Been on Insulin for years. I currently use Lantus once (slow acting) and Novorapid three times (fast). My insulin comes in disposable pens which you dial up the amount required. You just screw on a new needle every shot. I test three times a day before meals using a blood gluco...

Re: ATV

Love ATV's or as my wife calls them her "Petrol Pony". She much prefers 4 wheels and refused to ride her 2 wheel Ag. Bike anymore. :) Thrown my leg over Suzuki's, Yamaha, Polaris, Kawasaki, Arctic Cat and our own Honda's. Down under, the number one ATV is Honda. They have the best dealer s...

Re: 218 Bee Brass

Howdy guys, I have a .218 Bee Martini that my wife is going to keep. Been reloading for every gun she has for a lifetime supply, as I'm due to "cross the river" by the end of the year due to cancer. I've been trying to buy Bee brass in Aussie for about 6 months and we were over in the USA ...

Re: Lever Action Speed-loader

Howdy Bruce, I've made similar loaders myself for a number of years.. But I cut a groove just back from the front of the speedloader for a rubber O ring. It stops the rounds falling out but flexes when you push the ammo into the carbine. Rubber rings for faucets seem to work best - about # 8 for .38...

Re: 25-20 or 32-20??

Hi Tom, this subject comes up every now and then - you'll find the "search" function handy. I'd go for the .32/20. Either calibre is easy to cast. I have Winchester '92's in each calibre - both deliver similar accuracy. Never damaged a case during loading the .25/20, but do crush a .32/20 ...

Re: Be Careful This Weekend

Howdy Blaine, my wife and I are currently on holidays in the USA. Didn't check for public holidays, so the traffic is pretty overwhelming. On Friday we left Seattle for Portland. Driving bumper to bumper on a 5 lane highway for about 50 miles before it thinned out was a shock! Nothing to compare wit...

Re: new Rossi 92 357 carbine

Howdy, my wife has a Rossi Puma 16" in .357Magnum. It's her favorite little levergun. She carries the shorty on our ATV in handlebar mounts. It's so short that it never gets hit by brush etc. Very fast little rifle to get into action. Gotta be carefull, it gulps ammo at an amazing rate! I had o...

Re: How to fix a BOO BOO ??

Hi Jacko, the previous posters have given great advice. But I have always used small pistol primers in my .357 Rossi carbines without any problems whatsoever. Been popping them off since 1978... I prefer Win. 296 for my full power .357 / .44 magnum loads, but have burnt up plenty of 2400 as well. My...

Re: OT - Favorite target for irons

Hi guys, my favorite target for scoped rifles is a "post it" note manufactured by 3M. They come in all sizes and colours. I find the fluro pink 2" squares best for my rifle range's light conditions. I find them in the stationary supplies in the supermarket. I take an A4 size sheet of ...

Re: Ammo Storage Question

66, have you considered storing your ammo in an old fridge? Many of my friends have obtained old unworking refridgerators - sometimes for free, and bolted a lock to the door. A couple of holes drilled to allow gas to vent in case of a fire was all they did. They report no problems with them. I went ...

Re: 25-20 or 32-20

D, either calibre is fun to shoot and load for and will knock off rabbit, hare and fox. I tend to use my .32/20 more often for some reason. I imagine finding rabbits and hares in the Northern Territory would be like winning a lottery! If you are going to cull Kangaroo's, you are required to follow t...

Re: A question for our UK and Aussie friends

All states of Australia require all firearm owners to be licenced by their state Police Force. A security check is conducted and permission is given to complete a safety training course run by approved providers (usually gun clubs or College of Further Education). On completion of the course, the Fi...
