in july 2013 ,I paid about $1.00/lb. more than in July 2012. Very little powder at my LGS. Primers have gone up a penny/primer to 5 cents each when they're available.

Wife told my local owner to quit fighting the BBGS like Cabela's. He's gone end of September. No skin off my teeth as he did not give good customer service to me--only one person's opoinion. I still have mom/pop owner about 1 hr. away that I choose over BBGS.

444 is straight wall and has greater flexibility--mild to wild--tri ball, shotgun loads, 44 mag. level and snot slinger. besides it what I have.

If you're trying to boost performance of your engine with a computer chip, think about this. Diesels run at about 1000 degrees, and begin to melt at about 1250 degrees. Gas engines don't run quite as hot so there's more margin for error. If you're not careful. you'll end up with a blown engine.

No more than 3 boxes of commercial stuff through my .45C--rest has been cast Lee 255grain bullets of about 4 bricks of primers over 5 years. I even use all cast in .444 and mostly cast in .308.

I like my old style Lee hand primer better than my Lee auto prime because the auto prime always hangs up on the last primer, and because I get more consistent seating with the hand held one.

Went to local gun on 4/13. I was surprised to see many ARs reasonably priced. I did see 22lr bricks at $95--WOW!! Only vendor I saw selling primers had plenty of LR at $38/brick. He had sold our of SP just before I found him.

had a Ruger 77 in '06 in college that kicked the snot out me. got rid of it. 30 years later, I have a .444 that is not so bad after replacing the stock butt pad with a limbsaver. you can find a solution if '06 is your chosen caliber.

I like the looks of the T/C semi .22LR, and the feel of the Browning Buckmark semi, but alas I own a 10/22 because of price. It is a fine shooter. If you're retiring for a medical disability it's possible you could qualify for supplemental social security, SSI aka disability/ takes about 9 months for benefits.

I for one have made a personal decision that I want a minimum of 300 rounds reloaded for each caliber I use. I have enough components to reach that goal. Once that's done, then I'll my shooting frequency will most likely decline. I'll just do more dry fire under varied scenarios to keep my skills up...

I discovered RedDot in 2008 when Universal, Unique, AA #5 & AA#9 weren't on the shelves. RedDot is all I use now for .45C & .40 S &W handgun loads. I get 1000+ loads from a pound. Even tried some low velocity rifle loads. Necessity is the mother of invention.

Paco's articles on the .444 and those of Marshall Stanton at beartoothbullets.com convinced me in 2007 that the .444Marlin is what I wanted. No regrets on luckily buying a JM marked Marlin before the brand was ruined.

I used a Simmons 4x shotgun scope on my .444 Marlin for 4+ years firing at least 500 rounds /year. No problems. Only reason I changed I just decided to go conventional instead of scout mount.
