Hi All, My sister-in-law is from Europe.....never seen a firearm not held by police or army. Came to the states, and had the oppurtunity to do some shooting with my uncle who lives in Texas. She'd done well with a variety of guns, long and short, when my uncle hands her a Blackhawk, 44Mag. Not knowi...

Hi All, I have a set of Bipod Shooting Sticks.....aluminum tubing with shock cord, and a piece of rubber tubing from tube to tube at the top that allows me to rest the firearm. Hi All,
Seems to me I've just seen a post where they were using Trail Boss powder favored by Cowboy Action shooters, and getting about the original velocities, and a really low SD on the velocity.

Once upon a time in a galaxy far, far away, Ruger supplied and fitted a 45 ACP cylinder to my 45 Colt Blackhawk. Truly, it did happen.
Seems to me I've seen ads for a guy (company) that will fit a cylinder for you....not Ruger.

I'm assuming you have the Outlaw, and want the 45 ACP cylinder.....you might measure the 45 LC cylinder and ask VTI to "sellect" one that length. Should work if VTI is agreeable.

Very nice Rolling Block....should give a life time of shooting.
One of these days, I'll run across a Rolling Block action at a reasonable price, and it will come home with me. I'd love to have a classic like your's sitting in my gun rack.

kkoi,
Get your 44......start with 44 special loads and work up to as stout as you want. If it's going to be a carry gun, you probably don't want full house 44 Mag loads anyway.....shoot the bad guy and three by-standers behind him! Practice will get you where you want to go.

Hi All,
Another possibility.....how new is the rifle.....how many rounds through it? In a rifle NIB you might need to fire 200-300 rounds through it to rub out the factory rough stuff. Perhaps a little bore lapping would turn the trick.
