Never shot a 32-20 but I own and have taken a deer with the .30 Carbine. One shot one kill at 85yrds with a 110 gr soft point. Anything bigger than a .22 is going to sound like the wrath of God falling on the wick ed. That being said... who cares? I personally keep a pistol by my bed and what ever rifle i was cleaning, polishing, or other wise petting at bed time.
