Texas hog hunt

I thought I'd do a writeup about a hog hunt that my sons and I did (along with a friend and his family) a couple of days after Christmas. We hunted the Langley Ranch, which is a high fence operation in central Texas. As you can see from this pic, we were sucessful! http://pic1.picturetrail.com/VOL11...

I don't think you will have any trouble with standard .45 Colt loads.I have used the 255gr.semi-wadcutter with Unique and it will make you a good load. SmokeEater2 where are you at in North Arkansas? JerryB, I'm in Mountain Home. I've got a bunch of family around Judsonia/Blad Knob. My brother in l...

Do yourself a favor and go right on thru Little Rock and stay in Jacksonville or go another 30 miles to Searcy. When you're on the south end of Little Rock, take I-440 (loop around the east side of LR), it will dump you ought on Hwy 67 in Jacksonville and you'll miss the worst of the LR traffic, alt...

I have 16 inch Puma in .45 Colt that shoots way low with heavy bullet loads. My loads used a 300gr BRP hard cast bullet, at "Ruger" pressures. They were not nearly as accurate as standard pressure loads with a 255gr Keith bullet.

Sorry to hear that you have such a bias against "black guns" and think they're "junk". I own lots of lever-action guns as well as black guns and each has their place in my collection. Try and understand that regardless of what a man chooses to shoot, that at heart we are all sho...

I don't know when mine was built, it's a pre-safety 1894c, but it's never given me any problems and is accurate enough that I'm tempted to mount a high power scope to found out just how accurate it is.

It's a lever gun, you can see just a bit of the loop on the lever behind his right cuff.

Cool pic, I have one of my grand father in his WWI Army uniform, and a few from many years later, mainly of him with fish he caught.

There is a great gunshop just up the road in Vernon too, on main street right next door to the Furniture store. In fact you enter the gunshop thru the furniture store.

Take care, and enjoy your new Marlin.

Howdy Vic, Remember me? I met you at Bass Pro and bought the two black powder rifles from you. Congrats, I have 3 357 lever guns and love them all. Two are Marlins, 1 1894c and one Cowboy. I'm guessing you drove to Wichita Falls to find a Big 5? We had them all over when I lived in Utah, but I never...

As a lover of big bore lever guns, it's tempting, but not at $1299.

Howdy, I haven't posted on leverguns in quite a while. Not since the regular forum died for sure, and I think a bit longer than that. Mr Taffin has been a bad influence on me, along with Mr Keith and a few others <G>. One of the guns I've been keeping an eye out for for several years now is a straig...
