Re: .30-30 Powerpoint vs. Nosler Partition

Kevin,
Are you going to shoot the Partitions one at a time?
I use 180 gr. Partitions in my .30-06 and they're pointy. Do they make a round nose Partition?
A 100 lb pig isn't armor plated, so Powerpoints would kill just as effectively, especially at .30-30 velocities. Plus they're cheaper.

Savage 340 .30-30 question

So I wandered in to the local toy store looking for some 1911 magazines. I walked out with a surprisingly well cared for Savage 340 in .30-30. So here's the question: when was it made? No serial number. Nope. Nothing. Not filed off, just absent. Drilled and tapped for a peep, but not a scope mount. ...

OT Saving my pennies for a 1911 - which one?

Since it's the centennial for the 1911 I'm saving my pennies to buy one.
Plus, every American should own one (kinda like a Garand).
I don't want or need a racehorse, tricked out 1911, I'm just looking for a good, reliable representation of the American standard.
What should I buy, and from where?

I think the problem is the Marlin doesn't know it is a .357 calibRE.
It thinks it's a .357 calibER.
Talk to it a bit, reassure it.

In Washington, you attach a transport tag to the carcass immediately, but you aren't required to check it unless you happen to pass by a check station on the way home.
