I always found the one I had was more useful then any other long gun I had while on the farm, it was an original Rossi in 357 with the 16 inch barrel, had a scout mount worked up and put on , Lyman flip down peep and had the loop enlarged to glove model type and wrapped , I had bucket loads, well 2 ...

One of the few revolvers I miss, had both the 6" and 4" sold them off years ago due to a divorce, have looked for years for the supposed version in 22mag, have never seen one, nor found a 999 in my area for sale, nice buy

Self defense as a last resort type pistol JIMO, followed it when FN first brought it out, talked with the few Pd's that tried it, and a few Officers who tried it, The P90 gets some respect, but the pistols are no go, its a fun target puncher and in the little 16" Contender I have the soft point...

I love the little Grendel and have used it on Virginia deer, and coyotes, I have never had the chance to hunt elk, but have been up close to them, and JIMO, the Grendel is outclassed, any of the 6.5's based on the old 7x57 or 06 would be the way to go, if you have to the old 160 and 150 grain round ...

The standard wadcutter today is to soft, they need to be hard cast, used to load them up in 38spl, never worried about them working.
At least the Rossi was a better built gun than the Taurus of that period

That's a nice rig, looking at 10ga's with barrels short than the 30-34" just look funny, had a dear friend that had an English 8ga that had 28" barrels and that looked funny with out the normal 34" or longer tubes

Have seen one old 10 ga short chamber 2" that was choke cyl in both barrels the gentleman who owned it say in his youth he hunted ducks in flooded timber with it. Bet it impressed a few ducks

For out and about walking I use the old, often written about snake loads in 44spl, uses a couple of gas checks and no-8 shot, sounds like you found a newer load for the 327, it should work wonders
