Re: Which .357 Lever to Buy?
If you are going to shoot it a lot and like a good trigger and are not real handy with firearms stay away from the 94 AE in .357. I have finally learned to like mine after much work on the trigger and getting the cartridge stop on the link welded (and then I reshaped it) to work. I had replaced the ...

Re: Small Rifle Primers vs Small Mag Pistol primers.......
Many years ago I got a .243 rifle and for a time all I had was large pistol primers and a can of H-380 powder. I got excellent results with that combination and Sierra 60 gr bullets. Being young at the time I went right to the top of the loading chart and loaded 45 gs of H380 for about 3500 fps out ...

Re: Williams peep on a Winchester 94 issue
I bought the Fool proof firesight set and just installed just the rear on my 94AE. The original front works just fine. It is slightly higher than what Williams includes with the peep so I just had to elevate the rear slightly. Actually I like it that way as I can put the rear buckhorn sight elevator...

Re: Winchester 92 Replicas?
Does anyone know what the twist rate is on the Rossi .357's. The LSI site shows a 1 in 30 twist which I hope is a miss print. I did not see any 16" .357's on the EMF site, are they available. Thanks in advance.

Re: Gunstocks by wenig company
I've bought 2 shotgun butt stocks from them and was very satisfied . I ordered the standard base wood and was pleasantly surprised in both cases to get stocks with a slight amount of figure in them.

Re: Williams peep on a Winchester 94 issue
I have a 94 AE and thanks to this thread I finally found a picture of the Williams sight mounted on one. I must have missed it going thru the catalog. You gentlemen say a higher front sight is needed with this. Does anyone have an idea what height for the .357 Mod 94?? I'm going to be ordering from ...

Re: Powders - who uses Hodgden Longshot?
Probably not of much interest on this board but Longshot is a great cast bullet powder in the 9MM. Excellent accuracy at top velocities!

Re: Suggested loads for 38 special or .357 in Wichester rifle
I don't know what powders you have available to you over there but here is what works well in my Wincester 94 .357. I use either a roundnose 158 gr lead or round nosed flat point 158 gr lead bullets. I load to 1150 fps which is just under the speed of sound, same as standard velocity .22's and the t...

Re: Winchester 1892 Short is back!
If they built it like they built the New Model 94 .357's I would not want any part of it at $500. let alone $1000.!

Re: Question on Henry .357's
IIRC the Lyman 358429 168 grain Keith is crimped on the forward driving band. Yep, just looked it up. 1.553" OAL They do it that way so that it meets SAAMI specs and can be loaded in short cylinder wheel guns such as gp 100's and S&W 27's. I crimp in the crimp groove in my 94 winnie for be...

Re: Question on Henry .357's
We plan to do that. I was just trying to find out in advance so that we could load some up before he gets the gun. With the gun in hand I'll know pretty quick if it has any oal limitations with the "Keith" bullet and mag brass.

Question on Henry .357's
Two of my friends have ordered Henry .357's and are starting to load for them. They want to load the Lyman "Keith" SWC bullet in the .357 case and crimp in the crimp groove. That will give a cartridge over all length of 1.660". That oal is a problem in Marlin 94's as it's too long to ...

Re: .357 win 94 AE feed problems
Thanks for the help guys. Parts are on order. I bought the gun used and now I see why he sold it! I only paid $300 and the gun looks like new and shoots great so I think I still did ok. Looking in the action it appears the cartridge stop was broken off, just the part under the screw remains. Brownin...

.357 win 94 AE feed problems
My 94AE is feeding cartridges out of the mag tube under the carrier when I cycle it. It does not matter if it is cycled fast or slow they pop out of the mag tube. Would this be a problem with the end of the link?? It does not appear to be worn. Thanks Nick

.357 94AE trigger job
I recently purchased a 94ae in .357 at a very reasonable price but found it lacking in trigger quality, the pull was 7.5 lbs. The gun is pretty accurate so I decided to open it up and see what could be done. I'm sure you fellows on this board are well versed in this but it was all new to me. First I...

I bought a Trails end .357 that looks brand new last week for $300. I think I got lucky! Trigger was terrible at 7.5 lbs, I stoned the sear and cleaned up the hammer hook a bit and it's now right at 4 lbs. I ordered a couple trigger stop springs and hammer mainsprings from Browning and when they get...
