Re: 410

Just a little extra innoculation with the .410 virus. I bought a small sack of paper shells a while back. Wish I had several hundred instead of just a dozen or two. The purple three-inchers are Dominions; the two-inch yellow shells are Winchester. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48092983336_9d7...

Re: 410

Sure, this is the first 410 I have not opened up choke wise but usually prefer them open over full.

Never found 3" an advantage. 1)2 Oz is plenty in a 2&1/2". IMO.
Besides, I can get 3/4oz in a 2&1/2" case if I wish to.

Interesting. Added oil to mine and it played up!
Degreased it so it's dry again and it works again.
Mine definitely needs a few thou more pin travel, next job.
I also noticed that any debris on the breech face or bolt face causes issues. Fortunately my Mrs toothbrush fits perfectly.

Re: 410

Never tried anything bigger than English #6 in 410.
I would expect #4 to be potent at 20yds, maybe more.

I am prepared for wing shooting so #4 may get a touch thin for that but stationary targets as suggested they maybe very good.

It's a true blessing when old true friends get to hang out for a while.......sometimes it's those few days a year that get us through the rest of the year. Paco looks as spry as ever...... I grew up in SouthWest Kansas. Jackalope were plentiful. A .270 would kill them. A few folks hunted them with dog packs and .270s. The vet did a thriving business patching the dogs up.

To shift impact. Move a rear sight in the direction you desire. With a front sight you move it the opposite direction to what you desire. Combined with barrel taper the rear sight maybe now too high. Slow weighty bullets also add a tiny amount of muzzle flip. It only takes a slight amount. .45 colt ...
