Re: OT Anyone shoot polymer coated steel case ammo?
I think I got sidetracked onto case material, when the real issue inquired about was the coatings. I will distill my thoughts down thus: Coated ammo should not be run extensively through semi-auto or auto weapons that do not have chrome chambers. I could be wrong, but I believe that is how it was m...

OS, I have a one with the 7.5 in barrel, I would go with the shorter 4.75 in barrel if I had to do it again. I find that the extra length is a pain to carry around all day hunting or whatever. I also shoot the polymer and lacquer coated in my Mosins and SKSs, I did want to use the .233 stuff in my Olympic Arms, but they state in their warranty that shooting anything but brass will void the warranty. I think the way Paco has it set up to use a mallet is the ideal method, it takes a little practice but after you get the feel for it, its pretty efficient. Re: Black powder with jacketed bullets
With the traditional muzzleloaders, you have to grease the patch or groove in the soft lead bullet, the bullet or ball needs to be almost pure lead so as to be soft enough for you to ram it down the barrel. With jacketed bullets the jacket is too hard to ram down the barrel, and it won't expand enou...

Re: Loading for a Garand
The Greek brass is very. very good. Plus the primers are not "pinned" in like LC and other GI ammo. So the primer pocket doesn't have to be reamed out to put in a new primer. It is worth just to shoot even if you dont save to reload, but it is very well worth reloading.
