Well, I am far from an expert in this area but I would look at 416 Rem or maybe if you have some time - see if Ruger comes out with the 416 that I've heard is on the way. This of course is a necked up 375 Ruger. It'd be a better cartridge from several standpoints - better than higher pressure rounds...

I would suggest the XS sights - they are durable and fully adjustable - I'd go with a large bead for the front sight though - like a Marlbles with large brass bead.

If you are deer hunting with it - that's fine too - these will work well for that as well.

not to start a war, but since when is H110 or W296 (same propellant) not good with cast bullets? These are THE propellants for the heavies IMHO. My yougest son is left eye dominant and right handed (but he's very ambidexterous) and I taught him to shoot left handed. I just bought him a new deer gun too - a left hand Savage stainless/synthetic in 30-06.

I really do think this is the way to go with cross-eye dominance.

I did not know that H&R made paradox barrels as described. The only ones I knew of were the Brit guns. So, it has shallow rifling that doesn't interfere with the shot and still spins a soft tight fitting 45 bullet... I wouldn't think you'd have any trouble with a softer alloy such as 1:20 at 950...
