Funny, I always thought a 3x9 scope was for a close range deer scope. So if it is a varmit scope then what is a scope with less power.

I saw a scope on the Cabela web site designed for the Marlin ....45-70 using the 325 grain flex tip ammo has anyone used that scope and if so is it worth buying. It looks kinda long in length.

Their is goverment hunting land next to where i hunt and during the first week of deer season i hunt right below the ridge line next to the road facing out overlooking the low areas if you can understand that, staying out of the line of fire. Later in the season i venture out deeper into the forest....

One thing i like about the weaver rings (That i could not get to work on the XS-rail) is they were made out of steel and only had screws on one side. I purchased thoses for the side mount on the shotgun which never got used. Once you strip a screw head it's a pain to try and find another screw to fit.

Old Iron Sights,, as you well know armor is not the same animal as sheet metal and if that were the case all hunters who own a heavy mag rifle with solid bullets would all be up the creek :lol:

Thanks JARHEAD, for correcting me. I have been drulling over that custom rifle for sometime but don't have the $$$$ to get one. I heard about another guy who used truck bed liner paint/spray to coat his stock what about that....I know i'm thinking cheap, but thats what poor people like me do!!!!
