( When a round is placed into the mag tube in the 45-70 guide gun does the bottom of the bolt grab the round to help pull it out of the mag tube when the lever is opened, or is the spring in the tube doing the work). The reason i ask ...

Thought I would let everyone know that I was surfing the web about 10 days ago and clicked onto a site looking for .357 mag info and found a .357 site that claimed to have a live video on it to view. Hog Hunting in Alaska
This may sound like a strange question, When one thinks of hunting in alaska most talk of hunting large dangerous game. Could someone tell me what kind of wild hogs are found in alaska if their are any. If so, where do they live/feed and do folks there hunt them.

Thanks guys. I had used the 3 x 9 scope once before on this rifle and the recoil caused the rear scope-ring to rip loose, so I purchased the quick release set from Leupold and fixed that problem. Clarksville Tn, is a great little town. Gun friendly, prices are not too bad. We still have gas at 3.87 cents. Have some cheap stores to shop at. Ft Campbell is located here so lots of mony flowing. Clean area, great roads, and great hunting and fishing. River runs right through town. When prices ge...

One thing i like about the weaver rings (That i could not get to work on the XS-rail) is they were made out of steel and only had screws on one side. I purchased thoses for the side mount on the shotgun which never got used. Once you strip a screw head it's a pain to try and find another screw to fit.

I am doing the un-thinkable, Been trying to place a scope on my Guide Gun. I purchased the XS-sight systems rail, mounted my scope with high rings and after 20 rounds of 325 grains Hornady's new ammo the ring in the rear tore loose from the mount.
