Re: Interesting analysis of the response to the virus
I blame the media. Fully. Entirely. The media are in the business of creating news drama to sell advertising and a good virus scare has legs. It has backfired on some elements of the media. Local newspapers in the US are hurting badly. All the local businesses on which they depended for advertising...

We've been isolating like a boss over here for weeks now, and it seems to be working. We haven't killed the bug, but at least we've stopped it killing us. Absent both a vaccine and a sure-fire treatment, that seems only to be delaying the inevitable, at fantastic economic cost. The big question, th...

What a bizarre lever action ! I knew of the Bullard single shot but didn't realize it was basically a chopped down lever action repeater, the latter having come first. The action locks a bit like a rolling block, with the locking mechanism to the very rear. A long breech bolt goes forward to pick up...

I have a .30-40. It's no trick to reload, but I keep it at the original sporting levels, 220 jacketed at 2000 fps (with 4895). If it's true that the UK's NHS has told 80 year olds to stay home, that is a form of triage. The NHS is not especially well funded compared to similar systems in Europe.
