Re: Marlin Model 1888 38-40

I was thinking Hepburn was still at Remington when the 1888 was designed, but obviously he wasn't. It's possible he was moonlighting with Marlin and made the switch when Marlin decided to go with his repeater. Did Remington ever try a lever action repeater? Maybe Hepburn had this idea which just di...

LL Hepburn had nothing to do with the Model 1888 Marlins. He didn't start designing Marlin lever guns until the next year model the 1889. Hepburn patented the 1888 action in 1887 and assigned it to Marlin. The patent shows the top eject. In the photo Shrapnel gives, compare the trigger guard and lo...

mainspring on an original 1873

I've recently acquired my first 1873 Winchester, one which had been reworked by Turnbull about 15 years ago. I'm surprised how heavy is the hammer pull, and that in turn makes for an action very stiff to open. Is this a consequence of the huge firing pin on these, or can the mainspring be lightened ...

While the Supremes made the correct call, the debate is far from over. A majority of Americans support abortion in the first trimester. It takes the petition of only 2/3 of the state legislatures to open a convention to debate the issue (and any others they care to at that time) and then a vote of 3...

Spike protein seems to be produced off and on for a LONG time after vaccination in many people. Evidently the mRNA can be sequestered and read later. Plus it penetrates into tissues most 'vaccines' wouldn't enter, so the antigen (spike protein) gets expressed in places where the body isn't prepared...
