Re: Screw size question
OK a little preview. I have been working on a scout mount for my Big Bore, that requires no drilled holes. Not sure if I will use an actual scout scope, or the little red dot I have, still deciding. First off, it's still in the white. I haven't finished polishing it up yet, before bluing. I will not...

On another note, I will prob give away the Ironsighter side mount if anyone is interested. I know it fits the big bore, but not sure what other model 94s it fits.

6-48 scope mount screws come in several lengths.. You can probably get a replacement screw, with the short cylindrical projection, from GunParts Corp, or dixie Gun Works, or even your local gunsmith ... Unfortunately, we have none. Nevermind, I found the parts on Numerich's web site. The rear threads are 6-48, and they are Sight Plug Screws. The front screw is the Finger Lever Pin Stop Screw. Not sure what threads it is, pretty sure it's 1/4 x 36 though. Now to find some 6-48 screws about 1/4" long! Once it's built I will...

It's for my 94 Big Bore. I can post a pic later, if need be, but for now, it's on the left side of the receiver (weapon shouldered) and there are 3 screws in question. Top front, is one that has a small cylinder about 1/16" dia that goes into the upper left front of the receiver. It APPEARS to ...

All I can say, is if I am hunting somewhere where the temps are -25 or lower taking the gun in and out will NOT be an issue. Me the gun and a good book are all staying indoors until the temps get somewhere closer to zero.

I like that spear. If i understand correctly, the brown cap goes on when the knife comes off? is the knife threaded onto the shaft? The ONLY improvement ( in my little mind anway) would be a throwing style knife, with both edges honed razor sharp. I LOVE that rope work on the handle. Great job and g...

I didn't see what animals they recommended it for, but a 260 slug at 1800fps is NOT what I would CHOOSE to face a brownie with. If that was what I had and one charged, I would sure use it though. That gun will do fine, and she will do fine with it. Just make sure she gets lots of trigger time with it to KNOW where it hits. I know those slugs are pricey, but there are a number of folks that have been surprised where they actually hit. One thing H&R has had issues with in the past, is sigh...

Ok I checked a few things today. First, the .375 barrel is about .610" dia just behind the front sight, where the barrel band goes, and the 307 barrel, measures .725". That seems backwards to me, the smaller caliber barrel is larger in diameter??? Sooooo that means new bands for sure. I al...

Oh, and by the way, the 308 is NOT a short and fat cartridge, compared to the 30-06. Both cases have a .470 dia base. The 308 shows .454 at the shoulder, but since the shoulder of the '06 is nearly 1/2" farther out, odds are good that the '06 dia at the same point where the 308's shoulder would...
