They got a bad rap for blast and recoil, but my guess is poor stock design, and bad choice of factory powders, combined with a short barrel. Extend those to 22" and would have been a whole nuther animal.

The muzzle of the 307 barrel I got is considerably larger than my 375, seems kinda backwards to me.

I understand a larger dia outside, but are you saying it does not fit the receiver? I also read I would need the barrel band for front, but not sure what else. Forend maybe?

The barrel designed for an AE will have different extractor cut compared to the one for a top eject 94BB. I had read that the threads were different too between the two 94BB models. I have a top eject and an AE in 375 and the external barrel diameter at the breech end is the same but the AE has a m...

Sometime back I started a discussion about necessary parts to convert a 94 BB from 375 to 307. I got the barrel, but some other parts were mentioned, and I have had a boatload of things to clear up before getting to this project, and lost track of what else was needed. Anyone know off the top (or el...

I would never recommend shooting a 375 in a 38-55 gun, ever, but, I would also guess, that if someone did it by accident, the fact that the 38-55 bore is .379 and the 375's bullets are .375, there's a real good chance the gun wouldn't blow up. i think the larger bore would prevent pressures from rea...

Yea if a 444 $399 would be a real good buy. One thing about the Win in 44 mag, is they usually have a tighter twist barrel than the Marlin, but that only matters if you're going after the heaviest bullets, like 300gr or so.
