Years ago, I had a Remington 788 in 308 Win. I made a reduced load with Unique and the Speer Plinker. It was perfect for varminting and gave me minute-or-squirrels-head accuracy.

If the scope is a regular eye relief riflescope, and not a longer eye relief scout or pistol scope, then the Weaver one-piece rail the fits all Marlin 336/1895/1894 will do,... Ruger is stubborn and won't fit an axillary cylinder to any pistol model that didn't originally offer this option. Since the New Model Blackhawk model did they will most likely do this for you. For the patient; wrap it in paper towels and let it sit somewhere where it gets hot. Like your garage during summer.

For the impatient: Soak it in Mineral Spirits. Get some PVC pipe & put the gun in it. Plug the ends and fill er' up.
