Re: Finally! Winchester .22 LR Lead-Free Updated w/Range Report

Another big thanks! The poor accuracy is inexcusable for expensive, lead free ammo.

When spring varminting starts here in CA, it looks like I'll be going to a "no condor" area and using lead 22's.

Re: Thoughts on lever as bad times rifle?????????

OK I'll check up on the Saigas. My question still gets me whipsawing back and forth between 5.56 and 7.62. Everyone is impressed by the 30-30 as an all-round rifle, the 7.62 is sometimes compared to 30-30; so is that so, as far as terminal performance is concerned? Don't hear many stories about how...

In a "bug out" situation, I would pick my lever in 357 mag. Light & handy, it could take game from rabbit to deer and would do for personal protection from two legged predators. With 38 specials, it would not destroy too much meat on rabbits and other small game. Where a 44 mag or 30-3...

My winchesters prefer the 150's, and have accounted for antelope, muledeer, whitetail and elk. The Marlin shoots best with 170's and has been used on antelope and elk. Try some of each see which your rifle shoots best, then take that load hunting. The speer bullets are my favorite for reloading. Th...

The 30-30? Ammo is in every shop that sells ammo because no one buys it . It's everywhere! Now, deer are smarter and tougher than they used to be. No hunter uses the 30-30. Modern hunters know that you need a belted magnum case to harvest even a small deer. To handle the magnum, you need a 12-14 lb ...
