Wilson, Ed Brown and Les Baer are the best, but limited production and very expensive. Of the mainstream manufacturers, I think Kimber, Springfield and Para Ordnance are the best. S&W is also making 1911's and they are supposed to be good too. You probably can't go wrong with any of these brands...

I have a spiral binder that I write down records, but typically I load the same thing over and over. I use the plastic boxes from Midway. I but a roll of blue "painters tape", tear off a strip, and stick it on top of the box. I use a Sharpie pen to write on the tape what is in the load. Wh...

Re: How far can you shoot with iron sights?
The size of the iron sights vs. the intended target is also important. I've shot the highpower rifle course with various rifles. The aiming bull is right about 6 m.o.a. Using the sights on a stock AR15 carbine, the front post is way too wide for me to use with a 6 m.o.a. aiming bull, and a whitetail...

It's no problem to go down to 4 5/8", and you can buy them from the factory that way now. If you put in a short basepin, and shorten the ERH, you can go down to about 3 3/4".

Our country is based on religious freedom, so technically swapping holidays is purely American. If we are to believe in American freedoms then we should not have any complaints about it, in theory at least, and not start to pick and choose in the way that the liberals want to do.

I think it is pretty despicable to lowball a seller by that much. I understand that a shop has to make money, but he didn't buy the new stock in his store for 1/4 or 1/5 of what they would sell for. OTOH, it would not be appropriate to try to make a deal with a private person on the store owner's pr...

Re: Loading Mistake- What would you do?
The 92 is a strong design, and the .25-20 has a pretty small casehead so it won't put a lot of stress on the bolt. If you don't see any problems with the loads then you could keep shooting them. If you can wait until colder weather to shoot them, then that would also help to reduce pressure a bit.

I don't worry about the politics. I read what I want to read. If I see a discussion thread that I don't want to read, I just skip it.
The advantage of discussing politics here is that it's a lot more likely for the people here to agree with me, than elsewhere.
