The first pistol in space was the Makarov, caliber 9x18. The original Cosmonaut space suits were even constructed with a pouch (holster) to hold the Makarov. They sent it up in all missions because the Russian re-entry ballistic calculations cab be a bit dicey and sometimes a Cosmonaut may dance wit...

"This IS a leverguns site, but if the ONLY posts were strictly about leverguns, and never touched on the political, historic, social, or other aspects that may be 'controversial' there would not be many posts." Pretty much what I feel. Many forums have spilt the John Birch Society and co-c...

Against my better judgement I checked back in. What a crew. J. Miller, you answered my post about looking at .30-.30 Winchesters. That I appreciated, since it seems to be partly a levergun forum. Then you wrote that McCain, while you were in High School, was just surviving. If you were in High Schoo...

I joined this forum to learn about leverguns and the pistols that such people favor. But I've learned that the people who post the most here can't be more farther right-wing than Gingus Kahn and that they can't even support McCain - in fact they post links insuaitaing that he's a traiter. I was in V...

I'm sorry Claybob.

I should know better than to even open up political threads. Especially presidential election threads. Especially this presidential election.

Yeah. Why, what do you read? Al Franken?
Claybob, if your choice of reading material is limited to Ann Coulter or Al Franken, you need to get out of the trailer park more often. There's a Big World out there.

Checklist for Examining pre-64 M 1894

Hello:

Could someone who has a few minutes put together a checklist of the things to look for when examining an older Winchester M94? Where are the serial numbers that should match, etc. I have a couple of these to look at and I'd appreciate some advice.

I'm not certain if the ranges had anything to do with the posted stories. The first person probably killed herself, the second person never got to the range - killed himself getting his rifle out of his truck - and we may never know what happened at the police range because they put a lid on the sto...

I'm finding out that they are worth more than Federal 30-30 from Wal Mart. RTG Sporting Collectables just sold one of these 30-30 "Grizzly" boxes for $250, and reported another one went for $450. They said the 30-30 was the second hardest caliber to find in the "Grizzly" box, beh...

Boys, there is no thought of shooting or molesting such boxes, I'm deeply into ammo. Just never looked at .30-.30 much because like oregon73 wrote I can buy it so cheap.

What a deal! Starts the New Year off on the right foot.

Great active forum! Thanks you guys.

w30wcf, you made me look, so I opened the Winchester box. It's actually only partly full. There are only 6 cartridges of the "Super Speed" and 9 cartridges of REM UMC 30-30.

Some older .30-.30

Hello: A friend came in today and said "You shoot 30-30, take these". Sorry for the poor photo but this should be a slam dunk for you folks. The boxes are full and in good shape. I'm wondering how old these are (guess is around 1960), and if they're worth more than new cartridges. My bud w...
