Jack O'Connor once wrote about a lady deer hunter who fired her 99 in 300 Savage at an uphill angle during a western hunt. Under recoil, the tang sight damaged her retina beyond repair and she lost sight in that eye.

I'm not educated about this wildcat. But I'd like to know case capacity. Seems like powders for 444 Marlin would be good choices. Interestingly, 444 fires .429 or .430 bullets. That makes it a 43 caliber. 416 is a 41 1/2 caliber. There is only 1 1/2 caliber difference between the two.

I like Remington pumps quite a bit. Mostly because they're so different than rest of the pack + they shoot so amazingly accurate. I've never heard a bad rap against the 30-30 from rural folks. It's the urban dwellers who seem to make the most fuss. Any good big game bullet intended for 30-30 will do just fine. 35 is one of those cartridges that delivers more performance on game than figures on charts would suggest. You should consider loading the 180 grain Speer for slightly flatter trajectory.
