Re: Cut my own dang hair

Been cutting my own hair since 1994. Got tired of waiting in the barber shop. I got used to it right away, those that had to look at me every day took a little longer. Figure that's about $5k not spent, minus the cost of a couple of clippers over the years. Like I tell my kids, "it's just hair,...

Re: Social Distancing = Reload Bench time

Thanks guys for all the recommendations. I think I'll start off with the 2400 at 14 grns give or take. That is pretty consistent with my loading manuals. These rounds are pretty much "punch a hole in it at 50 yards" type of accuracy so this seems like a good place to start. I use 2400 in m...

Following the advice of our leaders I am spending time this weekend away from other members of our species. Besides the machine shop in the garage I will be at the loading bench in the basement. One thing to consider is what the item you are spinning: carbide burr, sanding disc/drum, rasp bit, etc. Most Dremel type tools run 5000-35000 rpm. Most drill presses are under 5000 and the flex shafts are to be run much slower than that. Most Dremel "tooling" needs to run at pretty high r...

3rd gen Colt 44spcl loads

I just picked up a beautiful Colt 3rd gen. 44spcl and am curious about loads for this platform. My standard 44 spcl load is a 250 grn Keith style bullet over 13 grns of 2400. This is a pleasant load to shoot out of my Ruger 44mags so I never gave it much consideration about pressure level. This load...
