Re: extra screws? Browning 65

Those screws are not factory original. However, 218 Bee Browning 65's don't grow on trees, so if you want it as a shooter and the screws don't ruin it for you, I would not automatically write it off. If interested, I'd offer the seller a price that reflects the downgrade in condition. If he agrees a...

I once watched a guy shoot 2 wild hogs at once with a 1950's 71 and the factory 200 gr. Silvertip load. He jerked the shot on the bigger (~150-175 lb) hog and hit it right in the middle, broadside, farther back than was desirable. It just "corkscrewed" into the ground, with VERY impressive...

What Pete44RU said. This comes from Robert Renneburg's book on the Winchester 94, and while there's apparently no hard proof that the stamp means a factory reblue, speculation is that there may have been a bad batch of bluing salts or something in that serial number range, as most are concentrated i...

Yes, it's in an old Gun Digest. There are at least a couple of his stories from his early days in Alaska in GD. I've really enjoyed reading them -- one involved using a Win. 94 Rifle in .30-30 IIRC, with cast lead bullets, to take some caribou for the winter's meat.
