Nice going OI! Seems it did the job nicely. Bigsky reported complete penetration from end to end on a mountain lion. I feel pretty confidant that a heavy cast 357ish bullet will get the job done on anything I am likely to encounter in my lifetime.

in my 356 Winchester I shoot hard cast lead, sized .359 at what should be 2000-2100 fps with no problems. To clean, I break out the standard bronze bore brush and give it about 20 passes, then wet/dry. It's the same as cleaning up my 22's after a day of plinking. Beartooth and Montana Bullet Works(n...

After watching my sons Marlin 22 blow up in his face and his eyesight saved by shooting glasses, I would resolve to always having eye protection. The term "horse pistol" I believe comes from those single shot pistols carried in holsters on the rider's saddle. Pretty sure this was the setup for the Walker Colts as well when they came along. I've seen some personal holsters worn on the body paired up with early Walkers and Dragoons(Al...

Something that occurred to me recently, based on my experience with only ONE Marlin, is that they have nice triggers and faster lock time than the Win. 94. The micro groove rifling seems no hindrance either as Pope used the same rifling style in his barrels. So, well made, good triggers, accurate ba...
