Re: ? On Nonneman Marlin 336 conversion

If you can get into cheap ,why not. Sounds like fun doing load development between the 35rem and 356. But I wouldn't keep the 356 at 35 Rem balilitics. What would be the point. The 35 Rem pressures are kept at 35k cup. The 356 is 52k Cup. The 444 is at 44Kcup. I would develope loads up to at least ...

Re: Reformed 358 Winchester brass?

Fireforming to neck cases up usually results in cases longer than what you started with instead of shorter as happens by using an expander plug pushed into the mouth of the case. For cases of .308 to .30-06 and similar capacity this works well: 1) Anneal the neck and shoulder 2) Load with 15 gr. Un...

A few weeks ago I posted reforming 308 military brass to 358 Winchester and so far it's coming out good. A couple of things I'm noticing is: 1) When cases are resized to 358 Win. they are shorter (2.000 or less) where the "trim to length" is 2.005. I was hoping to trim the cases a little b...

Last night I read a good article by Ken Waters on the 358 Winchester. I find this interesting as for years in my Winchester 88 358 ...

1. Make sure it has a flash hole before you run it into a size die. There's a lot of berdan primed 308 out there and that's really bad for your decapping pin. 2. Lube normally and make sure there's some extra lube inside the neck. 3. Size. You should be able to just run it into most 358 dies. It's ...
