Yeah, those are some of the issues. The problem for Romney was that the Tea Party win in the midterms shifted the momentum to a place where it does not exist in the national race. Romney was the right candidate for a republican party that did not show up.

To state the obvious, you drill the hole first, then lay out the final position of everything else after the hole is drilled.

Another option if a two piece stock is an option is to rout the hole, then assemble both sides of the forestock.

They have the 223s in the non-bull/standard barrels at some ridiculous prices. I was wondering how much difference in accuracy there would be. The .223 is a pretty small hole. Around here, one doesn't see a lot of groundhogs, so the rate of fire wouldn't be that heavy.

That's why I like Stainless guns, if something like that offends me I can just smooth it out with some emery and stones, and don't have to worry about refinishing the whole thing, or will cold blue hold up or blend in. I like blued guns a lot, but this is one of the reasons mine tend to be stainless...

Only if the barrel is totally coplanar with the gravitational field. For instance if you shoot straight up bullet will not land same time as one dropped from muzzle height.

Downhill and uphill shots are basically the same deal, hold for horizontal distance.

Well there isn't anything stopping one from using both. I do think that a can of spray, is lighter and easier to carry and might be at hand.
