The data was from an old 1987 Eley Shooters Diary, I have just checked a 2017 Eley diary and the data is the same. You can find instances of the .25acp producing one shot kills and .44 magnum not producing one shot kills, the .357 magnum from a carbine is one heck of a defensive round but the magazine and lever are there for a purpose.

In the early or mid 70s Val Forgett and another guy did an African safari with those rifles. It was pretty interesting reading. They worked up some pretty heavy loads and did pretty good work on the large stuff. A backup shot was taken by a guide on I think an elephant, but it was later determined ...
