Jay, as far as I know the law here hasn't changed and you can defend yourself with " like force " meaning yes you can shoot someone who is going to shoot you or stab someone who attacks you with a knife. However you are not allowed to posess a gun or knife for self defense, so unless you are hunting...

Re: Air rifle ammo

My G/F has a co2 Makarov .177 pistol with a rifled barrel, the Russian handbook recommends lead BBs but they tend to stick in the magazine, so she uses steel BBs. I have not shot it enough with either to tell which if any is harder hitting. If I had a Daisy pump up I would try different ammo just to...

Jays are indeed handsome birds, both the American Blue Jay and the European Jay. The Jays over here are great egg stealers, they take song bird and game bird eggs in the Spring. Good for Norma, our Jay's are egg stealing varmints so I plan to take out a few this spring. Scopes on springers have to be well made, I do not know if the gas ram system is any kinder on scopes. Personally I have found the fiber optic sights are fine so I won't be scoping mine.

I recently bought a fiber sighted air rifle, it sure helps my old eyes connect with the intended target but I'm not sure if they are precise enough for really long range shooting.maybe just a front fiber optic sight and a peep sight may work but as Pisgah said, could be too fuzzy.
