Re: New member of the family

A great P puppy may become a large dog. An 18 month old P dropped by this week, looking like he had a rough night; he wandered in to our place early just as I was setting garbage containers on the curb. We fed him and he settled in ASAP, making his bed under a lilac bush with damp cool ground undern...

Re: best hunting bullets for heavier game in 357 levers

180 grain Buffalo Bore shoots well from my Winchester 1892 .357 20 inch rifle. That should "do in" a black bear and maybe shoot through from some angles. Larger bears, well, you pays your money and takes your chances. In fact the 158 BB might be OK for black bear. Soon, some more experienced ...

Cool and wet start on summer

Nearly 5 inches rain yesterday; 3 inches before dawn and 1.75 inches in the afternoon. More forecast for coming days. Plus a welcome 65 degrees low overnight. For the past 18 months, this part of Texas is way above in average rainfall and way below in average temperature and it is summer! Maybe thes...

Rimfire, I think the bags were for protection from bullet and/or plate fragments or from a direct bounce back bullet.
