Well, I AM still here at this time, but my cancer is now definitely terminal so for how long only God knows. I spent four days in the hospital after calling 911 due to racing heartbeat and pneumonia that I had no idea was there. I am what is known as the palliative stage, just being maintained until...

The 86 levers should work on a 71. The internal parts won't swap, especially the locking bars because the originals are slightly canted. I have both 1886 and 71 levers in the garage and I will compare them tomorrow, Bill.

I finally completed fully inletting the Miroku stock to accept the original 1886 lower tang and put the gun back together a few minutes ago. All is good, I just have some tape marks to clean up and a little wood vacuuming and the gun can go back to it's place with the others. Of course we all know t...

Chemo this morning only lasted 1 hr 45 mins, not the 3 hrs I was originally told. I came home and went to the garage to remove a little more wood from the Miroku lower tang groove. Early 2000s Miroku 1886 gets 1908 parts
I originally posted this with a lame title, so decided to say it like it is. I had some 1886 parts from a 1908 .33 rifle lying about so decided to put them to the ultimate test. Would they swap right into a modern Miruku Extra Lightweight 1886? I tore down the Miroku and discarded the bolt, lower ta...

To get the correct one piece firing pin and ejector. Also because I had it and decided to experiment with it. Lower tang and trigger, flat spring and hammer, so why not the bolt? Who said that original 1886 parts won't fit the Miroku? I took it little sweating and holding my tongue just right to get the hammer screw in, but, by golly, it works. I just installed original bolt and lower tang from a vintage 1910 33 rifle in my Miroku EL. I'm having a dickens of a time with the original hammer with fly and the original mainspring. Why the fiberoptic sight and heavy bullets? 200 grains are best suited to the .348 and more bullet than you ever need for NA game. Go back to the original steel front sight and standard rear.
