Midway has a lot of the small parts and Brownell has a few. I am finding that mag tubes and their springs longer than facotry are hard to find. John Taylor is great for any machine work you might need. I when with a Shilen 30" BPCR barrel for my 32-40 cowboy.

Customized Marlin 336 Cowboy Barrel Question

I’m building an early Marlin 336 into a long octagon barreled 32-40 “cowboy” style rifle. It will be a lead bullet shooter. Which barrel maker would you all recommend and why?

My 336 CB and 1895 CB have the same dimensions across the flats within a few thousandths. The breech on the 336 is .830 and the 1895 breech is .835 across the flats. The 336 is .700 across the flats at the muzzle and the 1895 is .694 across the flats at the muzzle on my pair. The 336 CB is a 38-55 ...

Marlin Cowboy 336 and 1895 Questions

Are the outside barrel dimensions for the Marlin Cowboy 336 and 1895 models the same? I need a comparison of the distance across the flats at the breech and muzzle.
