one of our receptionist's brother-in-law failed to return from a hike yesterday, just near here. a group of his friends went up the same trail looking for him today......a brown bear mauled one of them, severe leg injury. other searchers found the missing man, who had been mauled and partly consumed...

we were doing a 9 day wilderness in 3 rafts [ as in....fly in , no roads out ....if plane doesn't rendesvouz with you, have a nice rest of your life ] on the mulchatna river and had trouble with a GPS. Luckily, a fellow from one of the few fly-in lodges out there came by needing jet boat engine help...

my GGGG grandfather, kasper goebel, was one of those Hessian

soldiers......he was captured and is #37 on the prisoner list

he switched sides and became a blue coat, a Continental soldier, and was in a lot of battles fighting on the american side

i always toast him and remember at Christmas

The Furgeson Rifle appears sane compared the Alexander Forsyth "scent bottle lock" priming system. And I do believe at one time a reproduction Ferguson was available.
