I hate staged game/fish photos. Look at his arm… straight out. Because he's sitting as far behind it as he possibly can, to make it look as big as he possibly can. The other trick is using wide angle lens up close. That just looks s-s-s-h-h-a-a-r-r-p-p-p-!!!!!! For some reason, those Damascus-style steels always seem sharper than other ones. Some of that has to do with the laminations going across the cutting edge, giving it a micro serration. I have made a lot of Damascus over the years and that one is just ...

I think the VP, violent proof, is the first high pressure test before finishing the barrel. The circle P is a barrel that was prepared to be sent to an outside source for fitting. A WP in the circle was a stamp only used in the factory for final inspection. The combination of circle P and circle WP ...

Not much need for a jungle machete here in Ohio. I think I'd lean towards a full tang clip point with about a 3-4 inch blade. That should handle most jobs from splinters to dinners. But then, I'm also a blacksmith so I see the worlds junk as supply for my craft. 90% of the folks are gone so there is...

That's a lot of material gone. Gone where? How old is the building? For that much material to disappear takes time and water. Did it only erode in the middle and not the edges? Strange.
On the lighter side, at least it wasn't the Harley museum. 8)
