Re: Reloading Setups

I load mostly rifle stuff so my Rock Chucker Supreme does that fine. When I do load pistol cartridges I use my old Lyman Turret press. It has six stations, and not that much faster, but at least I only need to turn the turret to change from decapping/sizing to belling, or bullet seating. So it speed...

Re: Pulling bullets

I ended up with a full set of RCBS collet pullers and hated them. They still do some damage to bullets, and a number of spire points wont grip well and the collet pulls off those bullets. I sold the set and use my kinetic pullers. Sometimes it takes 6-10 strikes, but most the time about 4 does it. I...

Wow, that's a nice one too. I'm only marginally familiar with Hepburn rifles. Hepburns were originally the design of firearms genius Louis L Hepburn. Very nice find. I'd love to find one like that. It's interesting that the slight difference in case size causes a problem, it must be extremely tight headspace. How did the bore look? Bore is probably a 8-9 out of perfect 10. Only a small amount of Winchester brass in my fired brass, so I can simpl...

Dumped all my fired .32-20 brass in my wet tumbler yesterday and ran them a couple hours. Then began running them through my sizing die to prepare for loading. I think most owners have found that a good old proven flat point bullet shoots well, and kills well on game. Plus OAL to cycle through the action is never an issue with a flat point bullet. Straight or pistol on the rolling blocks are both pleasing to my eye. The pistol grip isn't really a pistol grip as the angle of the grip doesn't have a huge change, its just a straight grip with a lump of wood below your pinky. That lump has character if shaped correctly. Although not as dramatic ...

The No.5 had a few differences with the smokeless military jobs, which are often mislabeled a "No.5". The hammer (and I think the trigger guard) is finer of line, and of course the stocks are, too. I actually like the contrast of a slender, smokeless barrel to the archaic action. We, uh, ...

Why not just do a chamber cast of Cerrosafe and be positive? Dropping a cartridge in wont tell you what it is for sure as a .308 will drop right into a .30-06 chamber. So you still wont know positively what it is without a chamber cast.

I've had cylinders begin to bind on some of my older S&W revolvers after a lot of shooting. They usually have .003" clearance from cylinder face to forcing cone and doesn't take a huge amount of fouling to slow the action down a bit.
