Re: Opinions on .40S&W
Assuming that you will reload for your next purchase, best make it a Springfield XDsc or XDm 3.8 considering that you want to carry concealed. Unless you're into self flagellation, avoid the Glock like the plague. Sure, they're popular in some circles, but then, so is mast... but this is a family si...

Re: For BigSky and the other VN Vets/aviation fans
Don't recall ever having CAS from a prop job, but will NEVER forget the Phantoms coming around, spewing their smokey exhaust, lining up, the "click, click... whufff whufff whufff whuFFF" the feeling "OH SHEEEI...!" and the overwhelming relief when they hit the treeline, and ........

Re: What is more Prevalent 20 or 30?
I recall an interview that had both Kalashnikov and Stoner and when Stoner was talking about the 20 round magazines, he was laughing as I recall, like it was funny. It wasn't funny at all when we heard an AK open up and as a result, I won't give my opinion of Stoner here. And no, I don't miss him.

Re: Older Kids and Guns
From my somewhat limited experience, it would be a pretty poor idea to give a "non-enthusiast" kid a bunch of expensive guns as a present for leaving home, unless it's a bribe to get them to do so. It's pretty much guaranteed that sooner, (rather than later) the guns will be lost, stolen o...

COsteve:"many current arms makers produce products that, while functioning fine, are a bit rough in the action and a simple cleanup is worth the time. Not because one gets to 'play gunsmith' but rather because they really do benefit from the work. I wish that they produced them slick and ready ...

COSteve: "So, I think dissing an action/trigger job on one's Rossi is short sited and not based upon the facts at hand." Well now, don't want to get into a dissing match here. However, if expressing the opinion that unnecessary modifications are just that, unnecessary, is "dissing&quo...

Dogngun: "I don't see a need for improvements". Good on you for not following the herd and automatically ordering all the stuff you need to make it work right according to some of the pundits. I'm afraid I did that and ended up with a .44 rifle that barely ejects and then only when really ...

Re: Who shoots a brown bess ?
Howdy; I owned a Bess back in the '80's when doing a little buckskinning. Not reenacting, serious stuff, just having fun w/ the old guns, studying the history, stuff like that. Anyway, I ended up cutting the barrel to more or less emulate the weapons used by Roger's Rangers. Much handier that way, a...

Yeah, right. What a loss.
