Re: OT: Prayer request for captured US soldier
Whatever the circumstances of the American's capture, I can only hope and pray he can survive. We lost another Australian soldier killed yesterday in Afghanistan; for a small population country such as ours, this is a loss we can ill afford. Also, you may have heard about the Indonesian hotel bombin...

Re: OT: Who Has Ruger 77/22
I have one in 22 Hornet, it is a grey stainless/laminated model. At first I didn't think it would shoot well, but after some experimenting with different handloads, I discovered it can shoot far more accururately than I can. My wife loves to shoot it at the range.

I also don't have the eyes I used to take for granted. I now have to go to optics, even though I really love peep sights like Williams etc. Recently, I purchased a cheap halographic sight off the dreaded Ebay (from Hong Kong -I think it cost about $35 Oz) to put on my 94 SS 44Mag. Let me tell you it...

44 Mag Primers in 1894 SS
Sorry havn't posted for a while, unfortunately other things have intervened. However, I recently purchased a 1894 SS in 44M, and I'm having heaps of fun with this rifle! :D When I go to the range now, I experience feelings of guilt because I am seem to be neglecting my 45/70 1895 and my Win 94 30/30...

Unfortunately, the toll will now exceed well over 200 as more areas are 'liberated'. If there is any good news in all this it is that Police are very close to an arrest. I also understand that the Victorian Police Commissioner has directed that wherever a deceased victim is discovered, the area is t...

Re: The Rifleman Series
I just received a boxed set of The Rifleman series for Christmas and watched this episode the other day.
Unlike some old TV shows,The Rifleman has really stood the test of time well.
Mind you, I still don't know how many shots he fires in the opening credits

I'm almost embarrassed to be an Australian.
This is one dud movie; the history is all ar#e about and the social issues are dealt with in a most simplistic manner.
I never thought I would ever agree with anything Germaine Greer said ..until now.
Our film industry is capable of better.

A lovely courageous man; we need more like him.
His unselfish actions remind me on another man I've read about called 'Simpson' in a distant but just as deadly war.

Guys, I have one for the 45/70 and although its a 'no frills' production, it does have a lot of data not easily found elsewhere. I myself now want another one for my new 44 Magnum, but I forget where in the US I got it. Does anyone have a link to a retailer online who will post to Oz, as Cabelas etc...

Ysabel Kid - that's a really cute kitten
. My wife and I both love cats (big and small) and we have one which doesn't go out at night, as we don't like the idea of it hunting wildlife.
J.Miller, I would love details of your 'kitty tents'

Dixieboy, As an Australian (and a bit of a history buff) I've learned a fair bit about Civil War stuff from these posts, especially yours. I don't think there's any shame in scoping your lever, especially if you're over 50 like I am. I tried the Williams peep sights on both my levers (Marlin 95 45/70 and W94 30/30) and although these sights worked well in my younger years- they just don't cut it now. I've now scoped both rifles (Burris...

Hi I'm a new member and this is my first post on this site. A few days ago, I was priming some new brass with a Lee hand primer while watching the Cricket on TV.
