Re: Is this normal?

I saw this when I was visiting with a friend who lives about 250 miles away. He is not as much a "shooter" as an "accumulator". If he sees something that strikes his fancy, he buys it. He has everything from flintlocks to the latest semi-autos. As such, he doesn't really know muc...

Is this normal?

I recently saw an older 1886 Winchester that struck me as unusual. I'll admit all the Winchester leverguns I've seen have been newer, so maybe this is normal for rifles of a certain age. It had no markings whatsoever except for patent dates on the tang under the lever. No serial number, no caliber m...

I like that! I'm not real handy with tools, but I might be able to manage that. It certainly would fill the bill as far as being steady & impervious to the elements. Would you pour that all at once, or in layers? I ask because I wonder how that would cure if poured all at once.

Several years ago I set out to try to find a cast bullet load with a 400-405 gr. bullet for 3 .45-70's, 2 1886's and an older Marlin with the micro-groove rifling. I wanted one load that would give acceptable accuracy in all. Since I figured the Marlin would be the most problematic (and since it had...
