Welcome to the sickness! May you have a blast with it. There is no known cure. If your Rossi has a brass bead front sight, put it in the small bottom notch of the rear sight, so you can see all of it, and put the bead on the target bullseye. I like to block out the lower half of the bullseye, and pu...

The A3s were made of the same 8620 through hardening steel that the M1 Garands were. The design was strong enough with the older case hardened steels of the era for any 30-06 round within reason, and when the newer alloys became available there was no major design change except to speed up productio...

Re: Need 300 gr .45 Colt load help
Thanks, Earlmck. It looks to me that a load at 100% density of IMR4227, not compressed should be safe enough to try. I will be happy with a moderate velocity, 1100-1200 fps, as long as it groups. I'll be trying these in my "soon (????) to be delivered" Bighorn 90A in 454 Casull. Hope they ...

On Nov 15 1968, a month before my wife and I got married, I killed a 13 point whitetail buck. It was late evening just before dark and all day long a song had been stuck in my head. "My Guy" by Mary Wells, a Mo Town offering from a year or two before. While the Buck was comming out of the ...

I have one of the Ruger American Rimfires in 22 mag. It shoots better than I can hold..death on ground squirrels, boringly accurate. Since I ran on to a 1892 in 25-20 with a relined barrel and figured out an accurate cast bullet load the RAR has languished in the safe. I found a brick of CCI 22WRM M...

Interesting guns. The originals were made with very long barrels for a comercial reason. Traded for a stack of furs as tall as the gun, that extra barrel length really increased the profit margin with a very cheap initial investment.
