Six, the 410 was a gift from a patient, very knowledgeable gun guy. Another gave me a primo 1954 99.EG and a Marlin 35 Rem 336. And, come to think of it, another one gave me a Polish Mauser.

And thanks for the info. Think I had it pegged at about $800.

Six, here is yesterday's target. What mess but the Marlin 410 shoots right to the bead at 15 - 25 yds. I certainly walked that 45 New Vaquero all over the place. It is not even the highest one in the rebuild. A motorcycle officer went off it when it fell. It is now called the Clarence Wayne Dean Memorial Interchange. You can google it for more pics. I think I have driven over all these. This a couple mikes south of that video of the biker kicking the car and...

Had a 71 Centennial model like the 64. Nice rifle, think you will like it. The pistol grip gives a more controllable feeling.

Had a 624 4", sold it to a friend. Used to correspond with Taffin regarding the the .44 Spl. Have to say my 6.5 24 is the better shooter of the two. The dogs and ribs were great. Well Six, on to more positive things. Put the new crane retention screw in the Mod 24. Indeed that did greatly reduce the end play in the crane after 6,000 rounds This is basically the world's best handgun.

crs has a 405, iconic rifle, Big Medicine. Like to see him take more stuff hares to hair raising with it. .41 pistol bullets - interesting. Could qualify as Gun Digests One Good Gun.

Gdu, I beg to differ. Depends on whether the powder burns completely in the case. Likely will burn in any length .357 rifle barrel.

:wink: indeed MM does V. Didn't have any of the same issues you note. But, I am widely flexible on gun styles. Well ... a few things I don't care for but not involved here. Have not tried the 24". I have tried the variations from 18" to 28" in 45-70 and like the 22" better than the 26".
