The hook is still fine.When i took the forend screws off and removed the forend the piece of the flat spring was broken laying in the bottom of the forearm and I couldn't figure out where the new one would go.Thanks.

Hi.i just had my father give me his savage 420 o/u.The gun is is great shape.When i took it apart to clean it I found a piece of flat spring in the bottom of the forearm that had been broken off. Reality TV is staged,but we all know that.I know someone that was on Pawn Stars and the whole transaction was bogus. It was entertaining to watch, American Guns isn't IMHO.

I use H4895 with the 405 gr Rem JSP,which is similar to the Speer.I get 1791 avg out of my 22" Marlin 1895 using the max load for H4895 as per the hodgdon data.I use Win brass and CCI 200 primers.HTH. :)

H4895 is a good powder for the 45-70.It will not achieve the velocity that H4198 will,but it will give very good velocities and lower pressures.H4895 is very accurate in my 22" 1895 and I get 1791 fps with a Rem 405 jsp with a max load of it out of the Hodgdon manual.It would serve you well in ...

I own and like semi's but for CC I take the J frame.I absolutely trust it to work if needed.I just picked up a 37-2 in 38 that was a limited run of about 1200 in 2005 that doesn't have the internal lock. :D It is a great little carry gun,I'd look for one of them.
