While at Cabela's today the F.I.L. became aware of a recall that came out last Wednesday. Here is a paragraph from G&A “Springfield has determined that under exceptionally rare circumstances, some 3.3 XD-S 9mm and .45ACP caliber pistols could experience an unintended discharge during the loading...

Worked out the tong issue with little trouble. First time so there was some R&D, but worked through it. Finished off the notches with a file. We have all sorts of scrap metal around, plenty of metal to make our own tools with. Enjoy!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v233/Trails650/Tongs_zps227...

I see you are using Plaster of Paris for refractory. It must be nice and light. I used cement covered with a half inch of fireclay for mine, and it weighs a ton. The only improvement will be to switch out the "hobby" torch for a more industrial one hooked to a least a 20lb tank. Although we did fire the forge which took 72 min and heat up a 5/8 rod on a 1/3 of a 1lb tank. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v233/Trails650/2_zps6981e90d.jpg http://img...

I have never seen any need whatsoever to have a round chambered when hunting. Only takes a second to jack one in after you have spotted the game and got into position. Probably 90% or more of so-called hunting "accidents" are a result of someone have a round chambered when there was no ne...

For everyday carry mine is Hornady 115 FTX for the first 3 then 124gr FMJ+P for the rest. With the thinking that after the first 3 shots if the goblin is still breathing then its looking for cover and the fmj have the better penetration.
For woods carry its all 124 FMJ+P.
