Re: Winchester 9422
Reno , Is this what you want ? https://skinnersights.com/products/winchester-rimfire-groove-sight Yes, I was looking at those and the Williams sights. I Initially didn't want to drill the tang thinking its value might take a hit, but since it's really not a collector and the previous owner drilled ...

Re: Winchester 9422
Well, I've learned a lot over the last 24 hours, mostly from other forums. From what I gather, it seems the first year the XTR came out in '78, was the only year it wasn't checkered. So mine was probably made in early '78 as they switched from a steel magazine tube (like mine) to brass also in '78. ...

Winchester 9422
I just bought my 2nd lever gun, a Winchester 9422M. It's an XTR model and from the two serial number lists I found, it was made in either 1977 or '78. I've read (after I bought it of course) that the XTR models had a deeper blued finish, upgraded wood and checkering. The finish is still beautiful an...

Re: New Cimarron or Refinished Winchester?
So you come asking about a Winchester 92 copy vs an original 1892... then leave with a Marlin, lol. Nothing wrong with a Marlin 1894. I've never put a Marbles sight on one. I have one for my Winchester 92, and like it well enough. I like the buckhorn sights too though. My Winchester 1892 made by Mi...

Re: New Cimarron or Refinished Winchester?
Thanks for everyone's suggestions! I wish could afford a new one and an original 92, but due to my fixed budget and keeping my small collection small, I could only afford one. I sold all my 'collectables' a while ago, leaving all shooters and as I really don't want to start reloading, ammo costs wer...

New Cimarron or Refinished Winchester?
Hello just joined, but of course I've been lurking around for a while. I'm about to buy a Cimarron 92 in 357, but today I came across an 1907 Winchester in 32-20 and due to it being refinished it's the same price as the Cimarron. I know they're both just shooters, but for the same price I'm thinking...
