I agree completely. Use a BIG SLOW bullet.

Wasn't there a time when a 405 grain bullet traveling at 1200 - 1300 fps was considered to be very effective?

I've always thought it would be cool to take my Marlin and put a Weaver (...er I mean, 'Picatinny') rail on top, mount an AR carry handle on the rail, put on a muzzle brake (...er I mean, 'flash hider'), add a few lights and lasers, and maybe a night vision scope. Might be a good way to irritate th...

Humor: Rules of the South

The 'Rules of the South' are as follows!!! 1. Pull your droopy pants up. You look like an idiot. 2. Turn your cap right, your head isn't crooked. 3. Let's get this straight; it's called a "gravel road." I drive a pickup truck because I want to. No matter how slow you drive, you're going to...

The problem is that what we are talking about here is, SIN. I was doing okay, looking at good guns, a 4 inch Redhawk had caught my eye, a couple of Blackhawks, a handful of Pumas, a Marlin 39a, and a couple of pre '64 model 94's. What do I bring home? An EBR. Oh, the iniquity. I don't know i...

OT Did a bad thing at gunshow yesterday.

I bought an EBR. Its a DPMS AR-15 carbine with a flat top reciever, light contour barrel and is "Pre-ban". I can't find this exact model on their website, so assume it to be a discontinued model. At any rate, paid $639.99 plus TT&L. It seems like an okay deal. What do y'all think?

OT- Thinking about getting a cell phone

I would like to join the 21st century, or at least the late 20th. The problem is that I don't have a clue. Who is the best provider? What about service plans, or texting or internet access or Blackberry, or iPhones, or...? Do those little plastic cockroaches attatched to the sides of people's heads ...

I paid $1145 for a NIB 7.5" 32-20 C-O-L-T. It was worth every penny. There is nothing that compares with that "click"- "click" - "click"- "click" of a Colt. It will hold its value WAAAAAAY more than a Ruger ever will. Both go bang, but......... I take it...

How are they when they're factory stock? The MSRP of $1290 is a little high for a gun that you need to send to a gunsmith to have it tuned.

OT-SAA?

Historically I tend to favor Ruger single action revolvers. Is there a tangible benefit to be gained by shelling out the huge amount of money that it takes to get an actual Colt SAA? Would it be better to get a revolver from USFA or one of the Italian replicas?
