Why does a guy who is not a shooter and is only expressing an "interest" in biathlon need a rifle costing $1300? Biathlon isn't a sport like bowling, where a bowler can use bowling alley balls instead of buying their own; or like racing the family car at Indy. Anyone who wants to do a com...

' You will still need to retain the forend wood, and after the magazine tube's shortened, a good rule of thumb for cutting the spring to length is to make it's frre length 1-1/2 times the length of the shortened magazine tube. . JMO - YMMV . 8) As a deer cartridge, the .44 Mag works well out to about 125yds (+/-); but as a rifle, I'd much rather use a rifle with an action designed for the pistol cartridge length (as opposed to full-length cartridges) - like a Winchester/Rossi Model 1892/92 or a Marlin 1894/94. FWIW, Tony makes both the A.H. Fox & Winchester 21 doubles on the same machinery as the originals, purchased from the respective factories.
YMMV, but in my mind, that's not much different than Winchester or Fox employees being replaced when they leave or retire.

My Grade AE 20ga A.H.Fox didn't have that checkering pattern or engraving - Yours looks like it's a higher C-grade. The receiver being marked as an A-grade leaves IMO two possibilities: * An A-grade receiver was used to made a C-grade, with commensurate engraving & checkering * A C-grade receive...

Speer says the 303 bullet diameter is .311 and of course the 30-30 is .308. It seems a little nutty today, but back then (when metallic CF were relatively new) everyone who introduced a "new" cartridge made theirs just a little bit different, presumably to differentiate their offering fro...
