Re: Talk to me about 94 Trappers
I have owned several in 30-30 over the years, and I still have 2 old top eject ones. They bark, but they are hard hitting, quick and reliable bush guns However, I personally wouldn't have a pistol calibre Trapper, as I have seen too many ( 4 x 357, 2 x 44m and 3 45 Colt) with broken carriers/lifters...

Re: First ever 38-55
I've been loading the 38-55 constantly since 1974 in at least a dozen rifles, probably more. I've dealt with every imaginable chamber and groove dimensions out there, including new reproductions such as yours. I've stated this many times here and never get any accolades, probably because most peopl...

Re: First ever 38-55
I had one of those, and the bore was about 375-376, so it worked with modern 375 bullets. my old 38/55s are larger bore.... all of them shoot the barnes 'original' 38/55 bullet well, which is .377...it works well in all of mine I use lead bullets as well, and I think most of mine are .378 and .379....

Re: 38-55 with Universal/Unique?
Interesting Catshooter, I never thought much about that.
I am wondering now about Winchester WSF / 473AA and also ADI-AP70N
They have similar burn rates to Unique/Universal, but I have never considered sensitivity to powder position

Re: CBD OIL For pain, anxiety
Not sure what the laws are in the US, or in individual states over there, but here in Oz they are starting to look at the legitimate use of cannabis as a medication. Some years ago my wife had a couple of nasty car wrecks which resulted in nasty whiplash injuries and a history of chronic pain. I ob...

Re: 38-55 with Universal/Unique?
QuickLoad shows nice safe loads with 9-10 gr Unique as posted above. I downloaded the ADI Powders chart. Thanks, Madmucus! QuickLoad lists these powders but I was totally unfamiliar with them. Now, my concern: You listed: ADI AR 2205 / H4227 and ADI AR 2207 / H4198 as if (at least to me) they are e...

Re: First ever 38-55
I have a whole bunch of 38-45 rifles. Every bore diameter is different. From .375 all the way up to .382..... in my guns with .378 and lower, a winning load is the simple LEE 250 grain bullet cast from 20-1 lead, 9 grains Unique with a 3/4" square piece of one ply toilet paper pushed down to h...

First ever 38-55
I have been a fan of the 1894 Winchester since childhood, and I've owned several over the years, but not a 38-55. Today I saw an ad for an Oliver F Winchester online, and I jumped in and bought it. It is far from 'çollectable" condition but should be a nice shooter, (I shoot them all, even my '...

I don't know for certain, but you would think they would be the same.
For what it's worth, I broke 2 ejectors in 2 different 92 Rossi 357's, I replaced all my ejector springs with a #c530 from Bunnings

The seller has offered cases & dies with the rifle, so I figured I'd start with the LEE .379"mold and go from there,
but the fact remains that I will have to "Slug it & see".

38-55 LF - Pros & Cons
I've been offered a Legendary Frontiersmen .38-55 at a good price. Here in Australia, they were never as popular as the .30-30 but I am really keen. I did some reading and came away rather confused about cast bullet sizes, case thicknesses etc. Seems there is some variation and opinions vary from .3...

Thanks for the knowledgeable replies guys, and yep this gun is definitely 'Shooter Grade' at best. Not in a hurry to purchase as I have severa...

Hello, It's been a long time since I posted here, but I'm looking for a bit of knowledge here..... I've been offered a 30/30 Wrangler, and to be honest, something doesn't seem right about it. I have seen the roll marked scenes on the 32 specials but not so many on the 30/30's. Also the sights both l...

Have you fitted a peep on the 94's bolt?
The little one is an early Rossi 92 357mag with ornately engraved receiver
the '94 is a 1972 30/30 with a Lyman side mounted peep.

Sorry to take so long with a picture.
It was part of a deceased estate & I only took possession today.
The rifle is still covered in some sort of brownish grease in places and appears unfired.

I'm looking at a Rossi 357m serial No. K004429
and I want to find some info about when it was made. It's got a fancy reciever in H/chrome or nickel and covered in scroll work, but there's nothin much written anywhere as to commemorations or the like.

Thanks for the replies fellers.
The Marlin I spoke of just doesn't seem to like the 'lip'of the SWC's and seems to catch on the chamber mouth. When working the lever it would stop on the lip,... you would have to back off slightly and have another go and then it would continue into battery.

Does anyone shoot Cast Semi Wadcutters in a Rossi 357 levergun? If so, do they present any problems with feeding. A buddy just bought a new Marlin 357 and it wont have a bar of 'em. It will only take "cowboy style" RNFP's so I was wondering what experiences people are having with their Ros...

This type of teenage behaviour is sadly on the increase here in OZ. I work in the security industry and the change I see in youth's attitudes in recent years is apalling. I can't believe the lack of respect, discipline and manners. http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/i-had-the-best-party-ever/200...

G'day again 20Cows, Hope all is well with you & yours.
That's an option I may have to look at, if I can locate one somewhere.
Like Papa, I've been scouting around auction sites and message boards but can't find one yet, but I'll contact you if I ever do.

I'm looking to get hold of a .38/357 hollow point mold. I had the LEE No.90484 or 90485 in mind but cant find one here in OZ and apparently they are not made as a standard item anymore. RCBS 'Devastator" looks good but again can't locate one here. Any help would be greatly apreciated. Kind rega...
